Departments at Blomman Preschool
The preschool accepts children from the age of 1 until they start school. The activities are divided into age-appropriate departments to meet the needs of each child:
🐝 Bees: For the youngest children (1–2 years). A safe and calm start with a focus on care, security and the joy of discovery.
🐝 The Bumblebees & 🦋 The Butterflies: For middle and older preschoolers (2–4 years). Here, play, creativity and social skills are deepened.
🦎 Sländan (Preschool group): For the oldest children before starting school (5–6 years). Here, children are prepared for school through playful training in letters, numbers and logical thinking.

Unique and familiar care at Åsa Henrysson
Blomstermåla is proud to offer Åsa Henrysson as a daycare provider – the only remaining municipal daycare provider in Kalmar County! In a small group of children in a home environment, Åsa gives the children an extra calm, safe and familiar everyday life with great personal care. The children regularly participate in joint activities with the preschool, which gives the best of both worlds.
Transition to school & Special support
Smooth start at Krungårdsskolan: The transition to school takes place safely and naturally. Preschool children are allowed to visit their future classrooms in advance, and teachers visit the preschool so that the children know their teachers well before school starts.
Adapted support & Special diet: Children with special needs receive adapted support in close collaboration with the Habilitation Center in Oskarshamn. The preschool also offers special diets for allergy sufferers.
Digital tools for parents: IST & Unikum
IST Home Preschool: Easy management of the child's schedule and absence notification directly in the app for both parents and educators.
Unikum: Gives parents a unique and continuous insight into their child's development, learning and everyday activities through images and educational documentation.
Application & Fees
Applying for a place in preschool or with a daycare provider is easy via the e-service on the Mönsterås municipality website.
Fees & Free Hours:
15 hours free of charge: All children are entitled to 15 hours of free preschool per week starting in the autumn semester of the year they turn 3.
Income-based rate: Care beyond 15 hours is governed by the parents' working hours/studies and is calculated based on the household income according to the rules for maximum rate.
